Govt awarded $30k contract to assess damage ‘and related works’ at Howard Springs camp while Fyles claimed no damage

The Fyles Government awarded a $30,000 contract to a construction company for “condition assessment inspections and related works at the flood evacuation accommodation at Howard Springs”, before some of Chief Minister Natasha Fyles’s most recent denials of damage there, denials she said were “based on advice I got”.

Three businesses were ram raided in greater Darwin, including the Buff Club, while a licensed business in Palmerston was broken into twice in fours hours, and “machinery” was thrown at a police car during a pursuit of a stolen car, while cars were stolen and houses broken in a weekend which also saw two bottle shops broken into in Alice Springs, NT police said.

Deputy Chief Minister Nicole Manison is on an un-costed trade mission to Japan and South Korea, which she says will attract “new major investment” into the NT’s critical minerals and energy sectors, and plans use the trip to highlight “breath-taking” new tourism experiences in Central Australia to the “Japanese tourism industry”.
