Police Minister Brent Potter says he and the Attorney General have called in the NT Anti-Discrimination Commission to investigate racist award certificates handed out by NT Police TRG members, but says there is no hypocrisy in him criticising the police members’ actions despite posting racist, homophobic and misogynistic material on social media around the same time the TRG awards were produced.
Stuart Hwy could close due to flooding Chief Minister warns, Borroloola spared major cyclone damage
The Chief Minister has said there is a “strong” possibility of the Stuart Highway closing because of rain from ex-Tropical Cyclone Megan which caused only minimal damage in Borroloola, while South32 is still waiting to fully investigate the damage to its manganese export wharf on Groote Eylandt caused by bulk carrier MV Anikitos hitting it during the category three cyclone.
