A man has been charged with murder and domestic violence offences over the death of a woman in Coconut Grove NT Police have said.
Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Paul Morrissey said in a statement the 50-year-old man was caught without incident and charged late on Sunday night, over the death of the 48-year-old woman in an apartment in Progress Drive on Friday night.
He did not specify what the other charges were.
“Thanks to the assistance from the public and the support of NTES volunteers who have assisted police in searching the area, we were able to locate the alleged offender…,” he said.
“Domestic violence is abhorrent and something we as a community should have no tolerance for. If you or anyone you know is a victim of domestic and family violence, please reach out for help.”
Snr Sgt Morrissey said the man was remanded to appear before Darwin Local Court on Monday.
