The death of woman at Casuarina is being investigated after a postmortem examination identified unexplained internal injuries, NT Police said.

Police director of communications Mark Wilton said the 52-year-old woman was found dead at 11.15pm on Friday on a walking path at the Casuarina Coastal Reserve.

“A crime scene was declared at the time of the incident and while there were no visible signs of trauma, a post-mortem examination has identified internal injuries that have yet to be explained,” Mr Wilton said.

“These injuries have lead to the classification of the case as a suspicious death, with Major Crime Detectives continuing their investigation.”

Police are asking anyone with information about the woman’s death to call them on 131 444 (quote reference number P25258037), or make an anonymous report by calling Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or through the Crime Stoppers website.
