DIMPL which really was a pimple on the arse of tax payers in the NT knew full well what was going on but took none of the big players to court because senior public servants where on the take.
fraud
impaired
conflicts of interest
general lack of urgency from the department.
Sound familiar? Yep, because it is. If you removed any identifying labels or words and asked any NT citizen to read this story and tell you which political party was responsible, the answer would be: no idea, could be either of them.
This could just as easily be the CLP or the ALP.
It is….drum roll……the CLPALP Alliance at your service ladies and gentlemen.
They’re both shit and they’re both corrupt and they’re both wasteful and incompetent.
Because they can get away with it due to a lack of any viable alternative.
The only difference in them is the colour of their letterhead.

Geez, get that Andrew Kirkman guy back, he’s fantastic! Such a valuable employee to have on the books. What genius let him resign?
All this next bit is the usual shit sandwich we are force fed by the same faceless bureaucraps over and over again no matter who’s in power:
‘The department has repeatedly refused to disclose how many companies were allowed to repay money instead of facing charges.’
‘The department said in its answer to written questions that it was continually examining contract management policies to “enhance internal operations” and management practices.’
‘It is “currently updating and reviewing” the Enterprise Risk Management Framework while also providing regular training to staff on contract management and procurement processes.’
‘All part of its “focus on continual improvement”, it said.’
‘Asked if it had learned any lessons amid the IEPS fraud and its lack of urgency in investigating it, the department said it now understands “the importance in ensuring any schemes, agreements or contract conditions are clearly articulated to achieve common understanding and prevent misinterpretations”.’

Just put your fingers in your ears and sing LALALALALLAALALALAAALALALALAA until the questions stop then back to business as usual. No worries.
…
You want this corrupt garbage to stop? You want to Change the Narrative? You want Better answers?
…
Yeah so do we: https://changeforbetter.party
…
The only Party who will actually do something about this expensive and tiresome maladministration and the poorest quality public servants.
It’s not that difficult, honestly: Political Will vs Political Won’t.
All of these “feel good” schemes are just about theft of public money.
Good employees will always be hired, no matter the colour of their skin. It is a complete waste of money to try to “encourage” businesses to hire certain people.
The NT is a failed state!
There is no evidence of a functioning Government!
There is evidence of massive tender cost blowouts for every project that it runs.
There is evidence of very poor Education and Health service delivery.
There is evidence of intergenerational, Territory bankrupting Government debt currently at $48000 per Territorian (thank you Labor’s superb former Cheif Minister (and celebrity Big W Shelf Stacker) Micheal Gunner and former Treasurer Nicole Manison for that debt).
The Northern Territory jurisdiction is rife with Stockholm syndrome, Groupthink, and the Peter Principle, and the Northern Territory jurisdiction needs to grow up and become a mature professional adult jurisdiction. Dumb diversionary distractions like the Laksa and $1 million Fish competitions are distractions to divert citizens and tax payers from what is really going on in the substandard Northern Territory.
Kirkland, the gift that keeps on giving. Guess its because he is so bountiful, that they kept /keep paying him long after he left the building.
“Our” Territory as is . . . has no future. Only a collapsing past and present. What is astounding: Federal Govts of either ilk over decades have chosen to not intercede? Not on their own behalf. Certainly, not on behalf of territorian(s). For we after-all are the illiterate ‘bunnies’ full of either trust or disgust! All may, or not . . . be lost? A THIRD PARTY player? In due course, territorian(s) will need to know?
Does anyone have a spreadsheet of how much Andrew Kirkman and his sister Jodie Ryan and friends have cost the NT.
Andrew has cost the NT Millions in court cases over how he treated and abused staff when he was a CEO. Jodi wasresponsible for the lost millions in the water bottling and the selection of the ICAC Commissioner Michael Riches, yes the one who received multiple payouts or extensive periods of being paid for not attending work! Whilst Riches was being paid not to work his deputy and Greg Shanahan were paid paid excessive salaries to pretend they were running ICAC.
Andrew in addition to incurring significant legal costs due to his treatment of two staff at DIPL was also responsible for NTG payments to settle two cases lodged by the staff concerned. He was also responsible for Court ordered compensation and damages costs for at least one of the employees. Now his role in the rorting /management of the Indigenous Construction Industry Scheme is coming out.
When will the list of NT board type appointments held by the cabal at the top of the NTPS be published together with how much they have been paid or how much has been paid via their related ABNs. Provide the NTG list!!
Previously employed public servants were not paid directors sitting fees or allowances as they already received an NT salary. Apparently this no longer applies if hold a part time senior executive position say 3-4 days a week and accept a part time position on a Board or Tribunal or even a part time office.
Just asking!!! Sam Alistair and relevant Ministers or Commissioner for Public Employment any comment????
