An injured woman with “significant burns” to her head and chest was found early Monday morning in parkland in the Palmerston suburb of Gray, with NT Police calling for the public’s assistance to determine what happened.
Police and emergency services were notified of the injured woman in the parkland near Heroine Court around 5:30am.
The woman was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital.
Police did not say what they suspect occurred and did not provide any further information about the victim.
“Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and are urging anyone who was in the area between midnight and 5am or who witnessed any suspicious activity, people or vehicles, to come forward,” police media director Mark Wilton said in a statement.
