A man and teenage girl were stabbed in the chest at the Casuarina bus exchange yesterday afternoon, NT Police said.
Police director of communications Mark Wilton said in a statement that about 2:45pm a 45-year-old man and a 33-year-old man both produced “edged weapons” during a fight at the bus exchange, which sits next to the Casuarina Square Shopping Centre.
“It is alleged the pair ran into a nearby alley, chased by serval unknown persons,” Mr Wilton said.
“During this time, it is alleged the 45-year-old stabbed a 27-year-old man in the upper chest before the 33-year-old man stabbed a 14-year-old female in the side of her chest.”
Mr Wilton said the victims were taken to hospital in stable conditions, and that bus security guards caught the 33-year-old man, while police officers arrested the 45-year-old man a short time later.
The two men are still in custody, Mr Wilton said, and are expected to be charged at a “later time”.
Police are asking anyone who saw the stabbings, or who have any information about them, to call them on 131 444 or make an anonymous report by calling Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 (quote reference number 25088671).

This is going to keep happening till we have zero tolerance for anti social behaviour! Everywhere! And stop paying the useless security at the bus exchange till they get off their phones and at least make an effort to look like they have a job!
