Another taxi driver has allegedly been robbed by a group of males with an “edged weapon”, NT Police said.
Police are calling for witnesses to the incident that occurred at around 1:30 am Wednesday morning at a fuel station on Daly Street in the CBD.
Police said the driver was approached by the undisclosed number of males requesting a lift. After unlocking the door, one of the males allegedly grabbed his bag and ran. The driver followed, demanding his bag be returned when he was allegedly threatened with a weapon by two males.
Anyone who may have been in the Daly St – McMinn St vicinity between 1:10am and 1:20am on the night of the incident is being asked to contact police.
“We’re particularly interested in speaking with the occupants of a white sedan seen at the service station just before this incident occurred; we believe this vehicle may have been approached by the same group of offenders,” Detective Senior Constable Jennifer Sharma said in a statement.
