Dear Editor,
What’s Litchfield Council up to? Has it lost the plot and forgotten who it represents, and to be open, transparent, accountable and rural?
After the million dollar decision to move the library to Coolalinga without looking at alternative sites, the councillors held a special meeting in May to discuss the proposed so-called Lloyd Creek rural village, which is not being put in the right place.
And then the item is declared confidential. This matter is not confidential, it is simply a public planning matter, an amendment to the Planning Scheme.
Rural residents, especially those living in the area, need to know what their councillors’ views are on this silly development.
Why did they hide behind confidentiality? Confidentiality is for staff, legal or contract matters, not a planning matter.
Gerry Wood, Howard Springs
