EXCLUSIVE: The Territory’s anti-corruption commissioner Michael Riches sent an extraordinary letter to the Chief Minister on Saturday, following public criticism of his office hiring a CLP operative as an investigator, in which he blamed the Fyles Labor Government’s funding cuts for the inability to attract suitable investigators and called for changes to the law to forbid politically-aligned people working in his office.
The letter, sent on Saturday and obtained by the NT Independent, directly addresses the fallout from the NT Independent’s exclusive article this week about Mr Riches’ office hiring former CLP Darwin branch acting chair and party campaigner Cormac MacCarthy, who resigned his position on the party’s executive management committee last month to take employment as an “operations officer” with the Office of the ICAC.

It just gets “curiouser and curiouser” said Alice!
Waiting for the next chapter of Natasha in Wonderland. It seems we have just witnessed the mad hatter’s tea party.
Just close that ICAC down!
Its the most embarrassing attempt to look like its doing something, when in fact, its designed not to do anything!
Has anyone dealt with ICAC and found them to be
(a) very helpful in encouraging you to not waste their time?
(b) full of shit!
(c) uninterested in lifting a finger!
(d) a dysfunctional government department that has accomplished zero with their multimillion doller budget?
