Lock him up a throw away the key.
Totally disgusting. Avoidable. The individual involved, not responsible for the behaviour.
Those responsible are each and every individual who knew full well Offender’s mental status / physical aggressive potential. The actual event totally a “Government” responsibility. Each of those who knew of Offenders condition. Denied accountabilities. Wanambi was and is a victim. Just as Ms Mills so? Disgusting!
It’s sad, but some people are just too much of a danger to the community to be allowed to live unsupervised.
NAAJA definitely need to be held to account for this assault and their failure to properly warn the residence of their clients special needs and danger to other people.
Now he will just go back into the prison system due to NAAJA’s failures.
Time for Robert Silas Hostel in Packard Street!
Red Shield Hostel On Mitchell St
and the crime zone known as Tomaris Court Housing Commission be relocated away from the CBD!
Larrakeyah Residents would be ecstatic to know their will be a DVO hostel run around the corner from Robert Silas Hostel will be run from the old YWCA!
So where do Service Providers send violent clients out of Jail for accommodation?
The public would agree that sending them to sleep in the street is not a option!
Using a old tourism term, does the NTG have a Animal Room (not the best room in the establishment) to temporarily house people that need to be away from the public.
Some prisoners meet criteria to be supervised persons under the Disability Act or the Mental Health Act which would allow for a careful risk-managed transition into the community. I would be curious to know if this was explored by the Courts and his lawyers.
There is a simple means of protecting the community from violent criminals. Execute them.
The death penalty was terminated due to various political lobbies and this was never supported by the people. There were no objective surveys. The lobbyists had their own motives, unrelated to the welfare of the community.
The ludicrous argument that capital punishment does not reduce crime rates is a non sequitur, because it was never intended to serve that purpose. The death penalty simply prevents psychopaths, paedophiles, violent rapists, and other serious violent offenders from harming anyone again. No other claims are made.
Bleeding hearts wail about the innocent being executed, but the innocent are convicted due to corruption and incompetence in the police force and judiciary, which is very obviously a massive problem right now. Police promotion regulated solely by competence will resolve this; and making the judiciary liable for their lethal incompetence is another.
The unsustainable argument that violent criminals should be imprisoned for life is unrealistic. Some fool will release them or they will escape. Moreover incarceration would cost two million dollars for the average life sentence. The community cannot afford this indulgence. If bleeding hearts want to pool their funds to pay for their incarceration, that is their prerogative, but they had better sign a lien on their personal wealth to back up their unrealism.
Finally, if Albo attempts to veto the death penalty, let him try to prevent it. Other states will swiftly follow the NT, and not for the first time.
Because he has not actually committed a murder, these judges won’t lock him up for 20 years, which is what should happen. He is a risk to even the people that are tying to assist him! Alternatively he should be forcefully heavily medicated (so others are safe) and housed in an NDIS facility after his prison term. He can’t just be let out again as it’s obvious he’s going to continue to be violent. Maybe these judges are just waiting for him to murder someone so he can get life in prison?
The Community Visitor commented their is no forensic hospital or stepdown facility unlike in other states. Why should NDIS have to pay for this?
NAAJA – Not Another Apologist Junior Advocate…
Thats brilliant , witty and unfortunately, accurate!
Just another example of NT corrupt Government. Who would ever want to visit that state, they are as bad as Victoria and now NSW
