A seven-year-old girl was hit in the head with a rock while travelling on a bus in Palmerston, NT Police said.
Police director of communications Mark Wilton said in a statement that about 8pm on Wednesday, the girl was hit in the head with the rock while on the bus travelling down Emery Avenue between Victoria Drive and Harrison Circuit, in Gray.
He said the rock was thrown at the bus and the girl suffered “minor injuries”, but did not explain if the window was open, or the rock smashed through the window and hit her in the head.
Police are asking anyone who has information about the assault to call them on 131 444 (quote reference number NTP2500083502), or make an anonymous report by calling Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The rock was thrown with deliberate intent and with malice
