The controversial $12 million Progress Drive building the previous Labor government called the Nightcliff ‘police station’ despite never being a functional station will house NT Fire and Emergency Services by next year, the Finocchiaro CLP Government has announced.
The cost of fitting out the building to provide NTFES a “fit-for-purpose headquarters” has not been disclosed, but Chief Minister Lia Finocchiaro said renovations would include implementing backup power and water systems while providing capability to “support emergency operations during critical incidents when required”.
