With less than two weeks left in the federal election campaign, early poling kicks off from today. Here are the important things to know about where and when to vote in the Northern Territory.
Territorians can vote at any polling place in the area, and plenty will open at local schools, churches, community halls and public buildings. Voting starts at 8am on election day and closes at 6pm on election day.
Early voting centres open on Monday, May 9. You can search for the one nearest you. The latest Territorians can cast their ballots is at 6pm on Saturday, May 21, when polls close and the counting begins.
“We encourage you to apply as early as possible to ensure that you receive your voting materials in time,” the Australian Election Commission (AEC) website stated.

The above list will be updated as new voting centres are added by the AEC.
Take note that the AEC said that voters who missed the pre-polling option will have to make a declaration that they are subject to a health order to access the “emergency” measure.
Also, you are only eligible for a pre-polling or postal vote under certain conditions, including if you’ll be more than 8km from a polling place on election day, are travelling, are in hospital or seriously ill, or fear for your safety.
