Barkly Region Alcohol and Drug Abuse Advisory Group chairperson Elliot McAdam has said the organisation is considering legal action against the Fyles Government because it failed to build a new residential rehabilitation facility for Tennant Creek that was promised more than five years ago, it has been reported.
The ABC reported Mr McAdam, who is currently waiting on the NT Government’s response to two site proposals, said he was considering legal action over the delays, and would also lodge complaints of “institutionalised racism” with the Australian Human Rights Commission and the NT Anti-Discrimination Commission.
