Darwin house prices have lowest growth of all capital cities

Darwin house prices have risen the least of all capital cities in Australia for the September quarter, and the 2021 year according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics residential property price indexes report.

Growth for all Australian capital cities fro the September quarter was 5 per cent, and 21.7 per cent for the 2021 year, compared to the Darwin growth for the September quarter of 1.6 per cent, and 12.1 per cent for the 2021 year.

The best performing capital city was Sydney with growth for the September quarter of 6.2 per cent, and 25.4 per cent for the 2021 year.

The mean price of residential dwellings in NSW rose by $65,100 to $1,118,200 in 2021, and was the highest in the country, outpacing the second highest mean price, the ACT at $949,700, followed by Victoria at $920,800.  The lowest mean price was $476,900 in the Northern Territory.
