But Ms Finocchiaro dismissed those calls again on Tuesday, stating that she does not understand why Aboriginal Territorians do not trust the NT Police.
“I can’t understand that and I don’t actually think it’s true,” she told ABC Radio on Tuesday morning, in response to a listener’s question.
“We have a fantastic relationship, the Northern Territory police with Aboriginal people in communities right across the Territory, in all of the communities that our Northern Territory Police serve.
“You know, this is just a really divisive, unhelpful debate that is undermining confidence in the police force to do a really important job.”
This is correct. The NT Police Force is the only Force left in Australia. All of the states renamed themselves as a Police Service…… Only the NT Police and The Australian Federal police have powers across the entire nation to police Federal Laws. Yes, you heard that right, as per law, an NT Police officer carries his powers under Federal laws across Australia. The QLD, VIC or TAS police officer is just a civilian in another state, but in policing Federal Laws, the NT Police Officer carries his/her powers in each State and Territory. (to make it clear, an NT :Police officer can’t do traffic stops in another state, but can arrest an offender in another state who is breaching a Commonwealth law, such as customs, immigration, and other Commonwealth laws)
At the crux of Ms Armitage’s report and as read, referenced, within the limitation of NT Independent’s overall comment . . . there appears to be minimal future guidance, expectation? Be it Indigenous behaviours, Police values, Community distress and / or deeper and deeper denial of an Australian collectivism? The longer our Australian Nation harbours division; the more certain Indigenous separation. Regardless of who is the progenitor. It matters not . . . who is responsible, accountable. That terminated at the end of Seventeen Century?
So Armitage doesn’t mention senior Police, who lied to the inquest yet still finds a reason to have ago at Rolfe who was found not guilty by a jury?. What a waste of good oxygen.
This report is like the pot calling the kettle…I have witnessed what could only be called racist practices based on colour of a persons skin instituted by our illustrious legal system. Mandatory welfare calls to legal aid made when an indigenous person is arrested to advise them that police have arrested an indigenous person . Regardless of the person privacy. Then allowing them unlimited time on the phone. Then they get another crack at talking to a lawyer when questioned by police for an offence…..no other people get that treatment. Indigenous people allowed to be out on bail for the purposes of attending a funeral…when any other people try they get the “you should’ve thought of that”statements from judges. The cries of racism when indigenous people are arrested for crimes they commit often on each other.when are we all going to stop living in a dream world and start pointing the finger at the real racist organisations also.
Blah Blah Blah!
Where in the world would I not be dispatched by a cop after i embed some scissors into aforementioned cop?

It’s the NT Police Force not a service.

Like all reports and enquiries, plenty of words, costs are massive, trees chopped down for more paper and the world goes on. Results? Debatable.
If you stab an officer you deserve to get shot. A violent criminal was killed and will never harm other innocent people again.
Well done Mr Rolfe. Most of us back you fully and thank you for your service to our community.
Our Coroner is a joke and we aren’t laughing.
Can we post our Coroner out at a remote community somewhere permanently?
The coroner should be stood down immediately for choosing to release her findings in front of a very inflammatory flag instead of a court room.

We need to have a good look at ourselves. Racism isn’t far below the surface in any of us, regardless of the colour of our skin.
Regretfully so Miichael.
