  1. Yet another p****wit!!!! What’s going on NT?
Get rid of this imbecile also….

  2. Please piss off BOBO, take your daughter & don’t return because you are not a good ROI.

  3. Are you all new to the Territory?
    Did you just arrive?
This is normal state affair for Charles Darwin University and its many many predecessors!
The organization, like most NGO’s in the NT, have ALWAYS been in some form of financial stress.

You know why theres so many predecessors? Because they also went broke and/or had reputational damage.
Oh to be in the famous Graduation Ceremony when Random Totally Forgettable Vice Chancellor#42 announced to the Graduates, who where proudly holding their “Northern Territory University” Testamurs that they paid and studied for, that the University had reputation issues and was changing its name to “Charles Darwin University”. Oh the joy in there eyes as they contemplated waving their Testamurs to interstate employers!
Ironically the standard of education at the Uni with the reputation issues, was considerably better than the You Can Not Fail, Bare Minimum Swill they offer today in 2024!

Due to the passing of a well respected, former senior administrator, Mr Ken Suter, a intelligent man who understood every facet of the University, saved the university several times financially, the well remunerated executives are at both a financial loss and a loss to any idea on how to solve their own issues.

Academics, even academics on $600,000 per annum, are crap at managing anything!
The alleged million dollar mismanagement of the new IT system at CDU, has yet to make Media Headlines!!
Which Big 4 Consultancy was allegedly engaged to manage the implementation of the system as the seriously well remunerated managers could not deliver the goods?, and nobody on the Board allegedly new about that fabulously lucrative contract that allegedly contained 7 numbers in it?
The surprise $15 million black hole allegedly discovered by a hastily hired interim Chief Finance Officer, who replaced the very hastily departed Chief Finance Officer who worked there for a decade, the latter now managing the finances at the local Catholic Diocese . How does a Board have no idea about $15 million dollar blow outs and holes in budgets? Because they are Academics. They talk the talk , they publish papers nobody reads and they have never been in private business or risked their own money on anything!

You should only be surprised when hear a well remunerated University Executive announces that the Finances are fantastic and nobody should be worried!!

  4. The Charles Darwin University’s new campus is an imposing and architecturally significant building. The facility will substantially support international students enrolling in the NT. Accommodation facilities will be established in an area adjacent to the city campus. The influx of overseas students will go a long way toward fulfilling the university’s dream of expansion and development outlined in the Darwin City Deal developed during the Gunner Government era.

I worry that the focus on International students and the massive amounts they pay in advance for courses diminishes the value placed on local students and their needs—these range from a disproportionate focus on online learning to the need for greater awareness of fee-paying options.

Most domestic students would be unaware of the savings they can achieve if course fees are paid upfront, compared to the indexed debt they incur if costs are deferred until they graduate.

International students, yes. But please don’t regard our homegrown cohort in a lesser light than their overseas counterparts.
