Barkly CEO on unlimited leave, mayor says he doesn’t know what his conflicts are in workplace review

The Barkly Regional Council chief executive officer is on leave for as long as she wants, Mayor Jeffrey McLaughlin has said, while the council agenda shows the man who the government appointed to run the sacked Palmerston Council was part of a confidential discussion about “leadership” and “executive recruitment” on the day the council said her leave was extended.

Barkly Regional Council chief executive officer Emma Bradbury has been given an extra week’s leave, Mayor Jeffrey McLaughlin says, saying she was extending her leave because she had done such a good job and deserved it, which comes during an ongoing saga over allegations of bullying and mismanagement against the CEO and the mayor and an intervention by the NT Government.
