Territory Business Minister Paul Kirby has said he has “written commitments” from the federal government pledging carbon offsets for fracking the Beetaloo basin, but also claimed that the gas companies would completely pay for the offsets themselves, in response to federal Climate Change and Energy Minister Chris Bowen saying he had no plans to be involved with creating offsets or offset infrastructure.
