Three men carrying a machete and a nulla-nulla assaulted a patient inside Tennant Creek Hospital on the same night another man was stabbed to death in town as part of ongoing fighting, details of which were kept hidden from the public by NT Police.

In three press releases over three days issued by NT Police about what occurred in the early hours of June 12 in the town, there was only mention of the stabbing death of a 21-year-old man on Griggs Street around 1am and the subsequent arrest and murder charge laid against a 17-year-old boy.
