An 80-year man has died at the scene after crashing his quad bike at Marrakai in the early hours of Wednesday, St John Ambulance said.
St John Ambulance NT operations manager Craig Garraway told ABC Darwin radio paramedics responded to the crash near Marrakai, around 80km east of Darwin, about 1am this morning.
“We responded to an accident out there, along with CareFlight who assisted us out there trying to locate this incident,” Mr Garraway said.
“Obviously police will be investigating that and give some further advice later.”
About 12.50pm NT Police media manager Rob Cross said in a statement an 80-year-old man has died in a quad bike crash west of Marrakai and NT WorkSafe and Northern Territory Police were investigating.
He did not say when, where or how it was thought to have happened.
