An investigation into the circumstances surrounding a toddler allegedly being kept in a cage at a Territory work site has been launched, NT WorkSafe has confirmed, after being made aware of the allegation by NT Police.

A WorkSafe spokesman said police reported a “safety concern” to the workplace regulator after receiving reports “that a young child had been secured in inappropriate conditions at a worksite”.
