A 71-year-old worker was seriously injured and nearly died after slicing his face and throat with a nine-inch angle grinder during reno work at a Winnellie industrial shed, NT WorkSafe said, while issuing a public safety alert.
The man was reportedly standing on a ladder and cutting steel wall frames above his head when the grinder kicked-back, causing the laceration that ran from his face, along his throat and into his chest.
