A man has been charged after allegedly assaulting his partner, who was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital with significant head injuries, multiple broken bones and facial fractures on Tuesday night, NT Police said.

NT government crime marketing manager Sita Bacher said in a statement that witnesses came to the 42-year-old woman’s aid after she was allegedly repeatedly assaulted by the 44-year-old man, who was arrested outside a Malak home by police.
