Woman charged over Palmerston stabbing partner who remains in hospital

A woman has been charged for allegedly stabbing her partner on a street in Palmerston on Monday night, with the man is still in at Royal Darwin Hospital, NT Police have said.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brett Cottier said the 37-year-old woman was arrested on Wednesday, and has been charged with one count of acts intended to cause serious harm.

He said she was remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court on Thursday.

Police allege the woman stabbed the man about 8pm on Monday, on Temple Terrace near the intersection of Roystonea Avenue..

Snr Sgt Cottier said her male partner remained in a stable condition at Royal Darwin Hospital.

“Police would like to thank the members of public who provided information and those who stopped to render first aid, their actions certainly assisted in saving the man’s life.”
