A woman was assaulted and robbed while parking her car at her home in Marrara on Monday night, NT Police said.

Police director of communications Mark Wilton said in a statement that about 11pm, a 29-year-old woman was assaulted and robbed while parking her vehicle at her Gleneagles Crescent home.

He said police alleged two male youths confronted the victim, demanding her car keys and mobile phone.

“Despite her resistance, the victim sustained injuries to her leg and hands before the offenders fled in her Toyota Corolla hatchback,” he said.

Police did not give details of the woman’s injuries.

Mr Wilton said the car was found burnt out in Yarrawonga Tuesday morning.
