A woman has been charged for allegedly attempting to hit a police officer with a garden rake, and a man has been charged for allegedly trying to assault an officer with an Esky, NT Police said.
Watch commander Andrew Heath said police went to a Marlow Lagoon house about 8:50pm on Monday because of a report of several people fighting.
“The police were attempting to restore order when a 29-year-old female picked up a garden rake and attempted to hit a male police officer,” Cmdr Heath told the ABC Darwin radio Tuesday morning.
He added a 31-year-old man also attempted to assault an officer with an Esky.
“Both offenders were subdued with capsicum spray and were arrested,” he said.
“Fortunately, the police officers did not receive any injuries. The offenders have been charged with assaulting police.
He said the man is expected to appear at the Darwin Local Court on Tuesday while the female will appear face court on November 24.
