A 25-year-old woman was arrested at the Casuarina bus interchange Wednesday afternoon after she allegedly threw objects at people and threatened bus workers with an edged weapon, NT Police said, before later allegedly spitting at and kicking police officers.

The incident started around 4:20pm, and the woman was initially apprehended by security until police arrived and arrested her.

“During the arrest, she allegedly spat at an officer and kicked 2 other attending officers,” Superintendent Vicki Koum said.

“We will not stand for our officers being assaulted while they are out serving and protecting the Territory.

“This is abhorrent behaviour that will not be tolerated.”

The woman is now facing multiple charges, including going armed in public, damage to property, assaulting police, assaulting a worker, resisting police and disorderly conduct.

It appears she was expected to appear in court today.

“Police urge anyone who witnesses crime or anti-social behaviour to contact police on 131 444 or in an emergency dial 000. Anonymous reports can be made through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or through https://crimestoppersnt.com.au/ ,” Supt Loum said.
