A man has been charged after allegedly holding his partner against her will with a gun across four days, and assaulting her and threatening to kill her, NT Police said.
Police director of communications Mark Wilton said a statement that between February 6 and 9, a 25-year-old man was allegedly the perpetrator of a domestic violence “incident” where he threatened his 24-year-old female partner with a firearm. There was no further information given about what was alleged to have happened or where it happened.
Mr Wilton said the “incident” was reported to police on February 10, and about 11.20am yesterday Territory Response Group officers arrested the man in Manton St in Darwin city.
“Police conducted a lawful search of a location associated to the male where a quantity of dangerous drugs were located,” Mr Wilton said.
The man has been charged with making threats to kill a person, depriving a person of personal liberty, aggravated assault, damage to property, supplying a commercial quantity of a schedule 1 drug, possessing a commercial quantity of a schedule 1 drug, possessing a traffickable quantity of a schedule 2 drug, receiving or possessing property from the commission of offence, and possession and use of a firearm whilst unlicenced
He was remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court on Wednesday.
