The CLP Government will table legislation to provide NT Police with “express powers” to access private property without a search warrant for offenders who breach parole or domestic violence orders.
Chief Minister Lia Finocchiaro said the new powers to “enter private property for DVO compliance checks” would not extend to entering a dwelling “without consent” and won’t breach “individual rights”, but police will be able to enter a dwelling for parole breaches.
