  1. NT Labour needs to be deregistered as a Political party!

    • We must not forget that flood refugees were also accommodated in Katherine hotels as well. The damage in one was many thousands of dollars compounded by rooms that could not be rented out until repaired.

  2. Its actually worse if we think about what happened. There were no advertised contracts for much of that 1.3 million spend. So it seems that DIPL contracts people divided the works up into a multiple of small contracts that evaded the procurement rules. It was public money not property spent. This needs to be explained to the public.

    • Would you expect anything but dodgy behavior from that crew??
Have you ever dealt with DIPL?
      What a s@!* hole of a Department!
The “superb and professional” CEO has left but the “highly productive”, “professional staff” have remained!

Looking for work? Avoid DIPL at any cost!!

  3. Agreed Davo, Obe of the best breaches of procurement was Andrew Kirkmans purchase of a private dwelling in Knuckey lagoon- Look that one up!
I worked for DIPL and was shocked, having completed a procurement 4 course to be told “ it’s all in the wording”!
All DIPL contracts should be investigated, past and present and the signatories dealt with and removed via inability processes!
If l have been informed correctly there is gyproc stud wall that hides the “ not to Australian standards baths” which is the reason there is no Maternity ward at PRH,is a classic example of DIPL corruption! The what was to be maternity ward is now nurse work stations!
To those that voted Labor- May your god forgive you! The funny part is if you licked arse, the very arse you licked, the NT People voted out! Now just as your tongue heals let’s hope the same occurs for your ethics and morals!
That Tiger Brennan over pass over spend is reprehensible and if the persons that procured that project worked in private industry, they would be sacked!!
The old saying “ if you can’t make it in private industry there is always government” and that should not be the case.

  4. As a ( mostly Southern) private businessman all my life, a simple policy has kept me solvent- avoid dealing with governments, & DIPL up here appear to me the worst!

In a real world, when Sitzler declared their winning $60m Berrimah Overpass would now become $160m, the customer would had a “ stop-work, stay out” clause, then re-opened bid to complete!
Aside from all that Mr Yan- thanks for honesty, even if it’s not CLP embarrassment released.

But please, when errors happens or stuff goes wrong, as it will from time to time, fess up and be transparent, it’s a path to Improvement.
The very stupid opaqueness of the ALP was their undoing, not just their ineffectiveness or in effeicdncy,
Please get on to fix the NT $$- we need you Mr Yan

  5. The word “Accountability” means nothing if the names of those who made foolish or corrupt decisions are not made public.

We need a change of law, that makes it mandatory for legislation and project titles to bear the names of project officers, divisional and departmental Heads, and authorizing portfolio holders.

Currently, those responsible for destruction of economies, communities, services and resources are never disqualified and continue to replicate their mayhem until retirement.

As for those who wantonly destroyed the Howard Springs facility, surely this is a matter for police investigation and restitution secured from the vast royalties received by the perpetrators.

  6. If private enterprise is too hard to make a dollar there is always the “Gument” to work for and get a good paying job with no responsibiities attached.

  7. Gunner Fyles and Lawler should all be tarred and feathered and run out of town on a pole.
