Virgin Australia will commence direct flights to Uluru from Melbourne and Brisbane starting June 6 next year, but they will not provide any remedy for ongoing skyrocketing domestic ticket prices that soared more than $3,000 one-way from Darwin recently.
In June next year, Virgin will open up an additional 62,000 seats for its Uluru from Brisbane and Melbourne routes, as part of the NT Government’s Territory Aviation Attraction Scheme (TAAS). Bookings have opened today for visitors reserving direct flights from the routes.

The government subsidy runs out and the airlines pull out. Seen it all before.
