Police are calling for the public’s help to identify a “group of unknown males” who allegedly stole a male passenger’s gold necklace before forcing him off the bus, where they assaulted and threatened him with a machete.
Police did not provide a description of the suspects.
They said in a statement that they received a report around 9:30pm that the group had “removed a gold necklace” from the male passenger who was travelling on a bus that had earlier departed the Casuarina bus exchange.
“The group forced the male off the bus where they proceeded to assault him before threatening him with a machete,” the statement said.
The male victim, whose age was not disclosed, was treated at the scene of the assault for minor injuries.
“Police continue to investigate the incident and is urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident to make contact on 131 444 with reference to 10519721,” the statement said.
“Alternatively, you can make an anonymous report through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”

Where were the pepper spray toting protection squad? I’ll bet the a’holes that did that crime watch their movements and choose which people to target. How the hell did they get on the bus with a machete.
