Canberra tops the country for economic growth in 2023
Canberra isn’t topping the country for price growth but it is strong for both houses and units, more than five per cent for both, over the past 12 months. The state has been the strongest performer since 2021. While agriculture was a significant contributor, mining also played a role, particularly for copper. More positively, mining continues to be a strong part of the economy and population growth is set to continue. Despite all this, it was ACT that topped the list for economic growth, driven by growth in Federal Government employment, Elite Agent.com has reported.
