Two women have been charged with murder in connection to the death of an 18-year-old man who was found unresponsive on a Palmerston driveway earlier this month, bringing the total number of people now charged to four.
Major Crime detectives arrested the 37-year-old and 18-year-old women yesterday as part of ongoing investigations into the October 8 death.
The women, both charged with murder, join a 17-year-old who was charged one week ago with murder and 20-year-old Dechlan Wurramarra who was the first charged with murder in connection to the death.
Mr Wurramarra was on bail at the time of the death.
On October 8, police reported that they were notified of an unresponsive adult male found on the driveway near the intersection of Driver Avenue and Waterhouse Crescent on Saturday morning.
It was determined that he had allegedly suffered head trauma.
Responding police officers declared the man deceased upon arriving at the residence on Saturday morning and a crime scene was established.
Police did not explain anyone’s role in the circumstances around the death and did not explain the circumstances of having four people charged with murder.
The two women were remanded in custody and expected to appear in Darwin Local Court on Tuesday.
“Detectives from the Major Crime Squad are continuing the investigation and request anyone with information to contact police on 131 444 or you can report anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000,” police said in a statement.
