Two people have died in a single-vehicle crash near Larrimah last night, NT Police said, with the pair being discovered by a passing motorist.
Police investigating the incident said the man and a woman, aged 74 and 67, were discovered by the passing motorist about 10 km south of Larrimah on Monday night.
“This is a tragic way to end a long weekend, and while we are still investigating the causes of this crash, we’d just remind all road users to take extra care, slow down and take a break if you are travelling long distances,” Detective Senior Sergeant Corey Borton said.
Police from Mataranka and Maranboy have attended the scene as traffic diversions were put in place last night.
Detectives from the Major Crash Investigation Unit from Darwin are on the scene and have commenced the investigation.
