Two children, aged 11 and 12, are facing charges for their alleged involvement in repeated break-ins at a business on the Stuart Highway in Stuart Park over the weekend, NT Police said, including the younger child for possessing a controlled weapon.
One of the youths has already been released on bail.
Police said at 8:30pm on Friday, two youths broke into the business and stole “a quantity of cash” before coming back to the business with three others the next night to cause more damage and attempted to enter the premises again.
Three of the five youths were arrested by general duties officers.
One 12-year-old boy is facing unspecified charges from both nights and was bailed to appear in court on April 14.
The 11-year-old boy was charged with possessing/using a controlled weapon, damage to property and attempted unlawful entry and was not given bail. He was remanded to appear before court on April 11.
Another 12-year-old “will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act”, police said.
