A 12-year-old boy allegedly rammed a car occupied by two security guards with a stolen 4WD in Alice Springs, attempted to ram a police car, then hit another police car, before being stopped with tyre spikes, NT Police said.
Commander James Gray-Spence said in a statement police were looking for information about that and another act of dangerous driving over the weekend.
He alleged that at about 4.10am Sunday police were told a 12-year-old boy had stolen a Toyota Prado and rammed a security vehicle on Gregory Terrace, Alice Springs with both security guards taken to Alice Springs Hospital for assessment.
He said a short time later the same 4WD attempted to ram a police vehicle, forcing the officer to take evasive action, and then the boy collided the Prado with the back of a police vehicle, causing minor damage. No officers were injured.
Comdr Gray-Spence said the car was tyre spiked on the Stuart Hwy, south of The Gap, and the boy was arrested and remained in police custody on Monday morning.
Police did not say if the boy was chased by police in the Prado but said he remained in police custody while Strike Force Viper continue investigations.
Comdr Gray-Spence said that about 3:30am Sunday, a 45-year-old male driver of a Holden Statesman allegedly lost control of the car and collided with multiple trees on the Stuart Hwy at Ilyperenye.
He said police believed the car had five occupants, including a young child, and the driver, who suffered a serious hip injury, was receiving treatment in Alice Springs Hospital under police guard.
Comdr Gray-Spence also said that just before 6am on Saturday police responded to a fight between an unspecified number of people using unspecified sharp and blunt weapons, and police found found injured people near Schwarz Crescent in the Alice Springs CBD. They were taken to Alice Springs hospital, one of whom suffered serious injuries but police did not specify what injuries they had.
He said officers pursued a motor vehicle from near the scene of the fight to south of The Gap where six occupants were stopped and arrested. He did not explain why this happened.
Those in the car remained in police custody on Monday morning.
“Our early information indicates the initial disturbance and armed person reports are linked to a subsequent collision between a vehicle and people on foot in the vicinity,” he said.
NT Police is asking anyone with information on any of the incidents to call police on 131 444, or anonymously through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

I have moved down south and now know that this shit can only be fixed by the NTG taking action. It is no use waiting for help from elsewhere, as no one down south believes the stories being told.
