ACCC Deputy Chair Mick Keogh says “67 per cent” of supermarket spending happens at Coles and Woolworths, Sky News reported. A report from Australia’s competition watchdog on supermarkets has found Coles and Woolworths hold significant numbers of undeveloped supermarket sites, which could prevent competitors from building new stores. “Well, certainly the figures indicate to us that 67 per cent of supermarket spend occurs through those two supermarket chains,” Mr Keogh said. “That’s a pretty strong measure of dominance in any market.”

State Department okays Australia’s $405 million guided missiles purchase
The State Department has cleared Australia’s foreign military sale request for Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missiles-Extended Range and related equipment with an estimated value of $405 million, Govconwire.com has reported. Australia will purchase 100 AARGM-ER with global positioning system precise positioning system provided by Selective Availability Anti-Spoofing Module or M-Code. The possible deal also covers up to 24 AGM-88G AARGM-ER guidance sections and 24 AGM-88G AARGM-ER control sections, among other non-MDE items. The potential deal includes U.S. government and contractor engineering support and other related logistics and program support elements.
