A month after a Senate inquiry recommended the Australian government list Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organisation, the committee chair says progress has been ‘slow’. A Senate inquiry report in February recommended Australia label Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organisation. The Australian government says that legally it is not allowed to include the IRGC in the list of terrorist groups. Liberal Senator Claire Chandler says legislative amendments could enable the blacklisting, SBS Persian has reported.

A European-inspired conversion in an exclusive inner-Sydney suburb has fetched $14 million, breaking records in what was a bumper auction weekend, 9News has reported. “Brompton” in trendy Paddington, part of the city’s eastern suburbs, was created by joining two terraces built dating from 1877 to achieve a rare 16 metre-wide, double-fronted home. A five-year renovation project has given the property plenty of wow factor across its five bedrooms, five bathrooms and four levels. The property also has a cocktail room, renovated sandstone cellar, roof terrace and courtyard, and a heated spa/pool.

Mernova Medicinal to expedite cannabis exports
Cannabis play Creso Pharma (CPH) has announced its Canadian subsidiary, Mernova Medicinal Inc. has agreed with CannDelta, a leading North American regulatory and scientific cannabis consulting agency, The Australian reported. The collaboration will enable Mernova to navigate the European Good Manufacturing Practice (EU GMP) licensing process for its manufacturing facility in Nova Scotia, Canada. Obtaining an EU GMP licence will enable Mernova to expand its international presence and tap into new markets that offer higher-margin opportunities. Initially, Mernova will target the Australian market, which commands prices twice as high as Canada’s for cannabis on a per-gram sales basis. The firm assists with licensing, business plans, strategy, operational support and ongoing compliance.

Foo Fighters reveal Australian Tour
Grammy award-winning rock legends, the Foo Fighters, are set to tour Australia for the first time in five years at the end of 2023. The tour will take place in stadiums nationwide, with performances in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane from November to December this year. In early 2024, the tour will then journey across the pond to New Zealand, a sure surprise for the many Kiwi fans who were preparing to make the trip across to Australia to see the band. The band last performed in Australia on March 4th, 2022, New Idea.com reported.
