NT Police have found an allegedly topless woman just hours after issuing a statement seeking public assistance in locating her.
Police issued a “concern for welfare” late Saturday morning, after 23-year-old Carissa Howlett went missing during a road trip to Queensland, with her gold Holden Captiva being located abandoned along the Barkley Highway.
Ms Howlett was reportedly seen on Saturday morning 30km east of the Barkly Homestead before apparently going missing, sparking the police media team to issue the public statement calling for assistance to help locate her.
“Information received is that Carissa is not wearing a top,” said police media manager Rob Cross in a statement on Saturday morning.
Around 7:30pm, Mr Cross issued another statement saying that Ms Howlett had been “located safe and well.”
“NT Police would like to thank the community for their assistance in this matter,” he said.
