Three teenagers have been arrested after allegedly stealing a wallet and a moped off an employee of a Karama business, NT Police said.
NT government crime marketing manager Sita Bacher said in a statement that just before 6:30pm Sunday, an employee returned from a delivery when he was approached by a “large group” of youths outside an unspecified Karama business.
“The group allegedly took the victim’s wallet and brandished a short baseball bat, demanding possession of his moped,” she said.
Ms Bacher said the victim was not injured, and police patrolling the area found the damaged moped near the service station in Karama.
Strike Force Trident identified members of the group involved, and a 15-year-old boy, and a 16-year-old boy were arrested later that evening, while a 15-year-old boy was arrested this morning, police said.
Ms Bacher said all three alleged offenders were expected to be charged later today, while they were still looking for an un-specified number of other offenders.
Police are asking anyone with information to phone them on 131 444, or report anonymously to CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000.
