‘Think tacos and sangria’: Darwin Waterfront to get new Bali-style ‘beach club’

A new ‘beach club’ at the Waterfront featuring nautical daybeds and sun-lounges is set to provide Territorians unable to travel to Bali with some respite this month.

Every day during June, the Waterfront’s lawns will be scattered with the nautical daybeds and sun-lounges as well as family-sized outdoor lounges, ottomans, soft furnishings and festoon lighting as part of the beach club.

Beach club goers can order food and drinks from a centralised webpage, without leaving the comfort of their lounge.

Waterfront events and marketing manager Paola McCarthy said a variety of different restaurants and cafes were participating as part of the club.

“Think tacos and sangria from Hot Tamale, banh mi and cocktails from CHOW, oysters and white wine from the Oyster Bar or pasta and red wine from Bella Fresh,” she said.

Ms McCarthy said the club would showcase the best of the Waterfront’s food and drinks in a new tropical beachside setting.

“The simple addition of free sun lounges by the lagoon has already been well-received by customers enjoying takeaway food and drinks, and we’re stepping this up by creating our very own beach club with more unique ways for locals to enjoy the Waterfront’s beautiful beachside parklands,” she said.

“There’s never been a better time to live in Darwin, and we want to celebrate our amazing tropical lifestyle right here in our backyard.”
