A 27-year-old man is in hospital with significant facial injuries after being attacked by a dog in Karama last night.
St John’s Ambulance Emergency Communications Centre manager Craig Garraway said the incident occurred at around 8pm Sunday night.
“We’re unsure whether it was his dog or someone else’s dog or the circumstances of how it happened,” he said.
“It’s obviously not good getting those sort of injuries around your face and infections are an issue with dog bites.
“Hopefully he is recovering well in the Royal Darwin Hospital and getting the treatment he requires.”
It’s unclear how the man found himself in the situation of being close enough to have the dog bite his face.
