Chief correctional officers in the NT prison system are voting on whether to take protected industrial action, including work stoppages, while their enterprise bargaining agreement is being negotiated, the union representing them has said, which comes at the same time as hospital pharmacists and pharmacy technicians have taken industrial action.
Community and Public Sector Union NT secretary David Villegas said the protected industrial action ballot commenced last Thursday and will finish this Friday, which highlights a range of stoppages and work bans designed to send a clear message to the government that the chief correctional officers deserve a fairer deal in the enterprise bargaining agreement that is currently being negotiated.
