  1. Gas is the cheapest by far. Unlike Inpex Beetaloo gas is very low carbon and containes less than 1% carbon and delivers cleaner energy than solar panels that have a limited life, rely on toxic batteries for storage and destroys vast areas of native habitat.

  2. Tom Quin thinks batteries are thr way to go and especially now they are cheaper. They have not worked anywhere in the world. Does not matter how cheap they are.

  3. Springmount Advisory and Environment Centre NT are both powered by ideology and cannot make a sensible argument for anything that is not inside their echo chanmber. I find it curious that in the NT they’re saying “gas powered electricity is the most expensive form of electricity we’ve got in Australia, it’s between three and four times more expensive than solar.”. Meanwhile, in Qld they’re saying coal is the most expensive. Mention nuclear and suddenly that becomes the most expensive option. Remove rebates and subsidies, and factor back into the equation the costs of replacement of renewables that have comparatively fractional productive lifespans, and then lets see what the real costs are.
