Land councils call for Territory Coordinator role to be scrapped

The NT’s land councils are demanding the Finocchiaro Government scrap its Territory Coordinator Bill, claiming it excludes Aboriginal people from decisions about their traditional lands and hinders their ability to protect their heritage.

The councils said they are concerned the CLP Government will use its majority to railroad the bill through Parliament during sittings next week.

  1. I have a far better idea let’s scrap all the Land Councils

    • and the low quality Indigenous Medical Services and low quality NGO’s!!!

  2. These ideas are being thrown around:

    1. The Land Councils are wasting money and not doing enough for their own people.
    2. The CLP has never wanted to spend much money to help Indigenous people.

I’ve seen good evidence for BOTH these.
