A 25-year-old man died after the ute he was a passenger in rolled over near Berry Springs this morning, NT Police said.
Police director of communications Mark Wilton said in a statement that about 5:30am Friday, the Toyota Hilux ute the man was in rolled over on Cox Peninsula Road, Berry Springs, about 35km southwest of the Stuart Highway intersection.
“Emergency services attended and located a 25-year-old male passenger deceased inside the vehicle.” Mr Wilton said.
“A 19-year-old male was also at the scene and was transported to Royal Darwin Hospital with a head injury.”
The Major Crash Investigation Unit is investigating. Police said at 10am that there were diversions around the crash site, and people were asked to avoid the area.
The man is the sixth person killed on Territory roads this year, which compares to the 13 people who were killed in the same period last year.
