Police are looking for a teenage boy after a teenage girl was flown to Royal Darwin Hospital following her finger being severed during an alleged assault in Galiwinku on Thursday afternoon, NT Police said.

Police director of communications Mark Wilton said police said received a report about 4:25pm Thursday that the girl had been assaulted by a 15-year-old boy she knew, who allegedly used an unspecified edged weapon to sever her finger.
